Italian Wine Essentials, taught by Jo-Ann Ross, is the creation of the Wine Scholar Guild. It includes 8 1/2 class hours over 3 sessions (including an optional exam). The 15+ wines accompany the “need to know” regions, grape varieties, and wine styles. The often complicated world of Italian wine finally becomes accessible and enjoyable. How Does Level 3 Online Work at CWS?
The course is based around a fifteen-week structured online program with a recommendation of 10 hours study per week to cover the online activities and read the relevant chapters in the textbook.

If you know the basic wine grapes—that Chardonnay is a white wine and Cabernet Sauvignon is usually red—then begin at Level 2. This beginner to intermediate wine course offers greater breadth and depth of material, and more tasting opportunities than Level 1. It’s for anyone who:

This qualification is intended for beginners wishing to learn about a wide range of wines. Each module includes a series of independent activities to help you understand wine label terminology and recognize the styles produced by the main grape varieties in key wine regions.
There is a recommendation of six hours study per week to cover the online activities and read the relevant chapters in the textbook.
Regular access and participation in the course online activities is essential for this mode of study. While participation in the webinars is encouraged, it is NOT required, as all Live Online Meetings will be recorded and posted to the Online Learning Platform.

A beginner level sake class for people working in a career in the beverage industry or anyone who has an interest to learn about sake. This qualification offers an exploration around the main styles and types of sake through sight, smell and taste to understand the key factors affecting flavors and aromas. Upon successful completion of a short exam you will receive a Digital Level 1 WSET certificate and Digital Badge

The Level 3 certificate is one of the most globally-recognized achievements in wine and is geared towards professionals or people interested in entering the wine industry, especially those looking for increased leadership and decision-making. Wine enthusiasts with a serious commitment will also enjoy this course, as it is interactive and customized to individual class dynamics and interests. The Level 3 course includes a complete study pack with an exclusive textbook and study workbook. Proprietary WSET films are also included.
WSET Level 3 embarks on an in-depth examination of the options and limitations available to producers of every major world wine region, including France, Italy, Spain, North and South America, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. For each region we examine the natural and human factors that impact wine style, quality, and price. The study pack and textbook are completely new and include links to WSET films.
