Avinage is excited to host a class all about sparkling wine varieties of the world. The class will be presented by Matthew Gaughan, who is a certified wine educator in many fields.
Sparkling Wine from the Rest of the World
Although we can’t get enough of Champagne, there’s plenty of great sparkling wine made elsewhere. In France, there’s Crémant; in Italy, there’s Franciacorta, as well as the bigger-volume regions of Asti and Prosecco; in Spain, there’s Cava; in Germany, there’s Sekt; in Englandoutside Europe, there’s fantastic bubbles in Australia and South Africa, a small amount in Chile and Argentina; and then there’s the sparkling wine made closer to home on the West Coast. We’ll be exploring some of these regions and how sparkling wine reflects precisely where it comes from.
