Tuesday, November 17th - Champagne
Need we say any more? Six wines of different styles from Champagne showcasing the finest region for sparkling wine in the world. We’ll explore its history, its sub-regions, its winemaking, its ageing, and just why the wines are so amazing. And did we mention we’ll be tasting six wines from Champagne?
Tuesday, November 24th - Sparkling Wine from the Rest of the World
Although we can’t get enough of Champagne, there’s plenty of great sparkling wine made elsewhere. In France, there’s Crémant; in Italy, there’s Franciacorta, as well as the bigger-volume regions of Asti and Prosecco; in Spain, there’s Cava; in Germany, there’s Sekt; in Englandoutside Europe, there’s fantastic bubbles in Australia and South Africa, a small amount in Chile and Argentina; and then there’s the sparkling wine made closer to home on the West Coast. We’ll be exploring some of these regions and how sparkling wine reflects precisely where it comes from.
