Matthew Gaughan
Matthew Gaughan is a WSET Certified Educator who has been teaching wine courses for over ten years in San Francisco. He has worked at high-end wine shops in the UK and California, at tasting rooms in Sonoma and Napa, and now runs his own online wine club. He has hosted an educational podcast, Matthew’s World of Wine and Drink, since 2017, which aims to help students prepare for WSET exams. He also has a website dedicated to sparkling wine, Bubbles of the World, which has profiles of over 400 producers from around the world and detailed overviews of all the major regions.
Matthew holds the WSET Diploma, has the WSET Level 3 Award in Spirits, is an Advanced Cava Educator, a WSG Certified Sherry Specialist, and is in the process of becoming a Rioja Wine Educator. He has also taught the WSET Diploma to all the other educators based in the Bay Area!
