This course is created for the student seeking an entirely self-directed approach. Those who wish to have instructor interaction can register for additional tutoring through our website, or should consider the scheduled Instructor-Led Online course instead.

Students will be provided with an ebook version of the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines study pack, containing access to the digital textbook and workbook. Students may also choose to register for this On-Demand course with the a Wine Tasting Kit, which includes a 12 wine tasting kit (187mL bottles) containing all of the wines referenced throughout the course.

Once the course has been completed, students are able to schedule the online exam through Commonwealth Wealth Wine School for a date and time of their choice, in order to achieve the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines certification

About Level 2

If you know the basic wine grapes—that Chardonnay is a white wine and Cabernet Sauvignon is usually red—then begin at Level 2. This beginner to intermediate wine course offers greater breadth and depth of material, and more tasting opportunities than Level 1. It’s for anyone who:

• Works in wine or who want a career in the industry

• Has a serious interest in deepening their wine knowledge

• Wishes to become a more confident wine taster

This qualification is intended for beginners wishing to learn about a wide range of wines. You’ll gain knowledge of the principal and regionally important grape varieties of the world, the regions in which they are grown, and the styles of wine they produce. Through a combination of tasting and theory, you’ll explore the factors that impact style and quality and learn how to describe these wines with confidence.

How does the Online Course work?

The course material should take about sixteen hours in total to complete, plus revision time, and self-led access and participation in online course materials is essential for this mode of study.

Students are able to contact the course tutor at any time during their studies, should they have any questions.

Each module includes a series of independent activities to help you understand the differences between grape varieties and types and styles of wine.

At the end of the course, you’ll complete a multiple-choice exam (available online on a date and time of your choosing), and upon passing, will receive a Digital Level 2 WSET certificate and Digital Badge.

Wine Tasting:

When students choose the “With Tasting Kit” option they will receive a code for a free Wine Tasting Kit consisting of twelve 187mL bottles through Master the World. This kit contains all of the wines that are referenced during this on-demand course.

If students choose the “Without Tasting Kit” option they will receive a list of recommended wines to purchase for themselves to use during their on-demand studies.
