Red Wines of the Loire Valley [August 20]
Thursday, August 20, 6:30-8:00pm ET
The Loire Valley of France is well known for its tantalizing white wines made from Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin, but its reds are just as impressive. Join us for an informative and fun journey through the Loire Valley to learn and taste the delightful red wines produced here from Cabernet Franc, Cot, Grolleau, Gamay, Pinot Noir, and the little known grape Pineau d’Aunis.
As you sip your way through the wine regions of Touraine, Chinon, Saumur, and Anjou, you’ll learn about the wine, the winemakers, and the region's history as your instructor shares a travel log of her personal experience in this region. Guided by wine expert Susan Richards, you will be planning your trip to the Loire before the end of class!
