Do you want to host a wine class for your friends, family or business?

We offer a range of private classes that we can tailor to your needs. We can present virtual events where we provide everything you need to enjoy the class, including materials pick-up from our school in Harvard Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts to limited-size, private classes at our school. Even a hybrid option is available, where some members of your party attend at the Commonwealth Wine School, while others join at the same time online. Reconnect with your friends or co-workers over a couple of glasses of wine!

Cost: IN PERSON - $1275 for up to 12 Participants - In Person at Commonwealth Wine School

Cost: VIRTUAL - $775 plus the cost of wine tasting kits ($95 per person - includes shipping) for up to 50 Participants - Online via Zoom

Wine Tasting 101 - It Tastes Good, What Else Should I Know?

Do you love wine and wish you knew more about it? Do you read wine notes and reviews and wonder what people are talking about when they say they can smell strawberries and leather in their glasses? Start to learn how to taste like the pros do. We’ll tease apart the components that go into a wine’s structure and learn how to train your own palate to discern quality. We will sample six wines throughout the evening as we delve into some of the world’s classic wine regions and varietals. 

Italian Wine Road Trip

Join us for a fantastic evening and whirlwind tour of some of the premier wine-producing regions of Italy. Italy has 20 regions, and each region makes wine!  From the Alps in Val D’Aosta to to Mediterranean Sea surrounding Sicilia.   What a country!!   Italy has from 350 to 500 documented, home-grown grapes.  Italians are constantly vying with France and Spain for wine production dominance.  Join us as we take a wine tour through Italy featuring six iconic Italian Wines.

French Wine Basics

Join us for a whirlwind tour of some of the premier wine-producing regions of France. The itinerary will include Bordeaux, Burgundy, the Rhone Valley, the Loire Valley, and Alsace. Learn why France is the archetypical region when we talk about fine wine.

Essential Spanish Wines

The popularity of Spanish wine is on the rise!  The wines of Spain have been steadily increasing in both quality and variety.  Their affordability, value and drinkability make these wines even more attractive. Join us for a tour of essential Spanish wines.  We will introduce you to the need-to-know styles, grape varieties and regions such as sparkling Cava, refreshing Albariño, rich Rioja and dry Sherries.
