This professional certificate in Spirits is a great way for trained wine professionals, bar tenders, and others in the industry to deepen their knowledge of spirits and liqueurs. It also provides added depth for spirits lovers and amateur mixologists.

What You’ll Learn

  • How production methods affect the characteristics of spirits and liqueurs

  • The characteristics of the principal international spirits and liqueurs

  • How to taste and describe spirits using WSET’s Level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting Spirits®

This qualification is intended for beginners wishing to learn about a wide range of spirits. You’ll gain knowledge of the principal and regionally important distilled spirits of the world, the variety of distillation processes used, and how the raw materials chosen can affect the resultant spirit. Through a combination of tasting and theory, you’ll explore the factors that impact style and quality and learn how to describe these spirits with confidence.

This class meets in person at Commonwealth Wine School. Tastings are provided as part of the in-person class.
