Friday Night Flights: Old World vs New World [March 5]

In the world of wine, the terms “old world” and “new world” come up a lot, but what do they really mean? Is it geography? Winemaking philosophy? Grapes used? Well, it’s all of it! Those two terms help express all the differences between wines made in historical regions and those made in newer winemaking cultures. Is there really a difference between them? Absolutely. Is one better than the other? That’s a much more complicated question.
Join us for an evening exploring old and new world wines. You’ll taste wines from both cultures made from the same grape to really get to know the differences that climate, soil, and culture can make. We’ll discuss the philosophies and techniques used to make outstanding wines, as well as the advantages and disadvantages that shape every bottle made. Do you prefer old world or new world wines? Let’s find out.
