Lucia Volk
Lucia Volk’s first encounter with grapes was in her family’s Riesling vineyards in the Mittelrhein region, where she grew up. Curious about the world outside her valley, she pursued her education abroad, obtaining a PhD in Political Anthropology and starting a teaching career. Still, wine remained a familial connection and personal interest, which eventually lead to the successful completion of the WSET Diploma and WSET Certified Educator course.
Additionally, Lucia holds the Certified Wine Educator badge from the Society of Wine Educators and received the Banfi Award for the highest exam score in her class. A passionate teacher for 25 years, Lucia loves seeing her students pass exams successfully. In her free time, she reads about the politics of wine and travels to New World wine regions, with particularly fond memories of Central Otago, Casablanca Valley, and the Chenin Vineyards of Cederberg.
