Jimmy Smith
Jimmy Smith is a wine educator and winemaker based in Surrey, United Kingdom. He is the Founder, Co-Owner, and Chief Taster of West London Wine School, as well as the Founder, Director, and Chief Educator of Wine With Jimmy. In addition, he is Co-Founder and Co-Owner of Streatham Wine House, and Beare Green Winery.
Jimmy holds the WSET Diploma, is a Certified WSET Educator, a Wine Scholar Guild (WSG) Educator, and an official educator for Grandes Pagos de España, Capstone California, and the Rioja Diploma programs. In addition, he holds numerous other wine qualifications and certifications that reflect his commitment to professional excellence and continuous learning.
Since founding West London Wine School over fifteen years ago, Jimmy has been dedicated to making wine education accessible and enjoyable for all. His teaching philosophy is built on inclusivity, engagement, and demystifying wine for every level of learner.
In 2020, Jimmy launched the ‘Wine With Jimmy’ YouTube channel, providing high-quality wine education to a global audience. Known for his enthusiastic and down-to-earth teaching style, the channel has grown to over 51,000 followers, with many students joining his accompanying e-learning platform.
Throughout his career, Jimmy has personally taught thousands of students across WSET Levels 1 to 4 and is also widely regarded as one of the UK’s leading educators for Wine Scholar Guild programs. He has also led countless private and corporate tastings, both in the UK and internationally, always combining education with genuine enjoyment.
Jimmy recently has co-founded Beare Green Winery. Based in Surrey, Beare Green Winery focuses on crafting premium still wines that showcase the region’s unique terroir. The venture reflects his passion for English wine, sustainability, and hands-on winemaking, while also providing educational opportunities for wine lovers to engage with viticulture and production up close.
